Recruiting ex-Armed Forces

Did you know?

Veterans make up between 4-5% of the population so around 3 million people across the UK. Within that ex-Forces population, it’s estimated that around 40% of Veterans are of working age, so about 1.2 million people. How have you factored this highly regarded talent population into your Recruitment strategy?

At Joint Force Alba, we can support you with this. We can provide ex-Forces applicants for specific roles on an ad hoc basis. Or, we can help you develop the internal mechanisms to attract, recruit and retain ex-Forces directly. Finally, we can work with you on an interim basis to deliver ex-military applicants across your recruitment needs. Drop me a note and we can set some time aside to talk through what would be the best option for you and your team.

Armed Forces recognition

The UK traditionally celebrates it’s Armed Forces during a week of events in June? As part of our contribution, we’d like to offer employers in Scotland some insights into how to attract, recruit and retain ex-military in your organization. We’ve set aside some time to deliver virtual lunch and learns over June to share our expertise and advice.

The dates available are:

The lunch and learn will be applicable to all of those involved in the recruitment process. This includes talent acquisition, internal recruiters and sourcers as well as hiring managers and panel members. The session will cover:

      • myth busting around the Armed Forces & Veterans population
      • explore the experience, skills & qualifications that ex-Forces applicants could bring
      • identify the commercial benefits of recruiting ex Armed Forces
      • explore the options available for attracting ex-Forces applicants to your vacancies

The lunch and learns are chargeable at a rate of £25 per person (ex VAT). Or if you’d prefer a bespoke session focused on your organization’s needs and/or onsite, please get in touch and we can provide this too.

This is normally part of our bespoke consultancy package but we felt it would be an appropriate time of year to share this in a stand alone format. To register your interest or explore other options, please email [email protected]
