Scottish Veterans shine at Awards night

April saw the return of the Scottish Veterans Awards. As the main sponsor for this event, Joint Force Alba were privileged celebrate and recognise the fantastic work of Armed Forces Veterans in life in ‘civ div’.

The event was completely sold out with 180 guests. These included the finalists and their supporters, sponsors and dignatories including Pam Gosal, MSP and Maj Gen Wright CBE. Guests were entertained by a Mini Pipe Band from the Army School of Bagpipe Music & Highland Drumming as well as Legion Scotland Sweetheart, Amy Hawthorne.

Alongside recognising Veterans, the Awards also fundraised for ABF, the Soldiers charity, through a raffle and auction. It was brilliant to see a number of Veteran-owned businesses supporting the fundraising through donation of prizes and of course bidding!

The Scottish Veterans Awards celebrated Veterans achievements across 12 categories. These covered business, health and sport, as well as community and voluntary activities. 2022 saw the introduction of 2 new categories; Reservist of the Year and the Leaver to Leader Award.

Joint Force Alba were joined at their table by representatives from Lothians Veterans Centre, Officers Association Scotland, Forces Children’s Education, Who Dares Cares, Semco Maritime and Environmental Essentials.

A brilliant night had by all and we look forward to 2023!
