Winners from Scottish Veterans Awards

This year saw the Scottish Veterans Awards scaling their awards night to the 5* Prestonfield Hotel in Edinburgh. Finalists were treated to a fabulous night of entertainment including from the Mini Pipe Band 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The highlights of the night saw NHS Golden Jubilee win Employer of the year! The fantastic Callum MacLeod, co-founder of military and blue light charity Who Dares Cares won four awards on the night. This culminated with him being awarded Scottish Veterans Awards Champion for 2024, ending with a standing ovation and emotional speech! Callum also won Golds in the Community and Volunteer category & Silver in Inspiration of the year.

As a result of this increased growth in the awards, they are having ever greater impact on the ex-military community in Scotland. The Veterans Awards are a not-for-profit run organisation. Any income received above their costs are used to support nominee charities and CICs with a turnover of less than £100,000 via grants.

With an ever-increasing amount of nominations being received each year, the Scottish Veterans Awards are continuing to grow. This resulted in 2 employer categories this year; one for not-for-profit employers and the other for profit organisations. Joint Force Alba were delighted to see one of our clients, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, receive a Bronze Award in the not-for-profit employer of the year category.

This year, Joint Force Alba maintained our support of these awards through sponsorship of the Employer of the Year category. As an organisation, we have been involved in supporting the awards since their inception in Scotland in 2020.
